193 Mr. Dempsey asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a person (details supplied) in County Meath was refused a house improvement grant on the grounds that he had installed a new door prior to an inspection by his Department even though no grant was sought for new doors.

The grant cannot be allowed as the proposed work had commenced before the first inspection.
