Vol. 396 No. 3

Written Answers. - Cork Corporation Housing Refurbishment.

Eamon Gilmore

Question:

192 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for the Environment if he will make sufficient funding available to Cork Corporation to cover the full cost of refurbishment work to both low cost NBA houses and those with felt roofs which are being purchased under the tenant purchase scheme.

A sum of £3 million has been allocated to the corporation in respect of their 1990 programme of works under the remedial works scheme. Under the terms of the scheme, the maximum level of grant allowable to local authorities in respect of eligible works to purchased dwellings is 50 per cent of the cost.
