199 Mr. Sherlock asked the Minister for Health the reason the Southern Health Board Dental Clinic at Knocknaheeny, Cork has been without a dental surgeon for 18 months; when it is intended to appoint a dental surgeon to the clinic; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The frequency of dental services provided at Knocknaheeny Health Centre was reduced from three days per week to two half days per week in January 1990 due to the absence of a dental surgeon and a delay in the recruitment of a locum. A locum will fill the vacant position on 5 March 1990. Because of the high level of demand in the area the service is being established on a five day week basis from that date.
