223 Mrs. Fennell asked the Minister for Education, in the case of the 23 schools which have not signed deeds of trust, the average period for which they have been opened; and the reason the deeds of trust have not been signed, given that this was mentioned in the report of the Auditor General in 1984.
In the case of the 23 schools which have not signed deeds of trust, the average period for which they have been opened is 11 years. As to the reasons why the deeds of trust have not been signed to date I would refer the Deputy to my reply of 26 October 1989 to Question No. 129 put down by Deputy John Bruton.
224 Mrs. Fennell asked the Minister for Education, in the case of the 24 community schools where deeds of trust have been signed, the total capital cost for the purposes of calculating local contributions; and the total contribution paid by (a) vocational education committees and (b) religious interests.
In the case of the 24 community schools where deeds of trust have been signed the total capital cost for the purposes of calculating local contributions was £28,415,773. The total contributions paid by the vocational education committees and by religious interests were £1,426,008 and £937,318, respectively.
