Question:65 Mr. Taylor asked the Minister for Justice the number of vacancies which exist in the District Court; the steps he proposes to take to fill such vacancies; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

There are 17 vacant posts at present in the District Court service representing some 7 per cent of all staff. Arrangements are in hand for the filling of a number of these posts. Further discussions are taking place with the Department of Finance about filling the remaining vacancies.
