Question:

21 Proinsias De Rossa asked the Minister for Finance if, with reference to the speech made by the Taoiseach at the annual dinner of the Chamber of Commerce of Ireland on 23 November 1989, he will outline the way in which the proposed National Debt Office will operate; the terms of reference of the office; the way in which it will be staffed; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Deputies will have the opportunity to raise questions and discuss all aspects of the new debt office when the Bill to establish it comes before the Dáil. The legislation is at present being drafted and I expect to be able to introduce it shortly.
