92 Mr. McCartan asked the Minister for the Marine if he has any proposals to improve the harbour depth at the pier in Buncrana, County Donegal, in view of its importance as a source of employment for the town; if he will seek the views of a company (details supplied) who are anxious to expand their use of the pier, if the harbour and pier are improved upon; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have no proposals to improve the harbour depth at Buncrana. Such dredging is the responsibility of the harbour commissioners and any proposals should be made to them. My Department will, of course, facilitate, as far as possible any such works.
