Question:82 Mr. Ryan asked the Minister for Energy if he will outline the cost to the Exchequer of schemes aimed at developing forestry in 1989; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The net cost to the Exchequer of schemes aimed at developing private forestry in 1989 was £2.96 million.
In addition the Exchequer provided equity grants and other aid totalling £19.6 million to Coillte Teoranta to support the company's 1989 forestry programme.
