85 Mr. Garland asked the Minister for the Environment if he has requested a meeting with the chairperson or members of An Bord Pleanála during his term of office; whether any meeting has taken place; and, if so, if he will give details of the subject matter of this meeting.
I have met the chairman and members of An Bord Pleanála on a few occasions in connection with the board's general role and functions and in particular their duty to dispose of appeals as expeditiously as may be and to review their procedures as necessary to that end, in accordance with the provisions of section four of the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act, 1983. I have also discussed staffing matters with them.
