Vol. 397 No. 10

Written Answers. - County Cavan Road Conditions.

Andrew Boylan

Question:

56 Mr. Boylan asked the Minister for the Environment if he has received a report from an official of his Department who visited County Cavan recently to inspect county roads at the request of Cavan County Council; if he will make this report public; the action he intends to take to carry out its recommendations; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

On 31 January last, a senior officer of my Department visited Cavan at the request of the Cavan county engineer. The purpose of the visit was to discuss at engineering level a proposed inventory of road surface conditions on non-national roads. In the course of the visit the officer took the opportunity to see at first hand a number of the roads involved. It is not the practice to publicise reports of such visits.
