Vol. 398 No. 2

Written Answers. - Leaving Certificate Examinations.

John Browne

Question:

47 Mr. Browne (Carlow-Kilkenny) asked the Minister for Education if she has any plans to increase the time span between leaving certificate oral examinations to be fair to students who are taking the examination in a number of different languages.

I have no plans at present to increase the time span between leaving certificate oral examinations. The National Council for Curriculum and Assessment are examining the question of oral examinations at junior and leaving certificate levels and I am awaiting their recommendations.
