Vol. 398 No. 2

Written Answers. - Stranorlar (Donegal) School.

Patrick D. Harte

Question:

70 Mr. Harte asked the Minister for Education if, in view of local disquite, she will make a statement on the future of the Stranorlar vocational school, County Donegal, and the reason no architectural planning has been proceeded with despite repeated undertakings to provide a new school on a site already acquired.

Architectural planning of a proposed new vocational school in Stranorlar, County Donegal has reached Stage 4, working drawings, of my Department's design team procedures.

In common with all school building projects in planning, this project is currently being reviewed in the context of pupil enrolments for both the short- and long-term. As soon as this review is completed a decision will be taken as to the best course of action for the proposed school.

However, as the Deputy will be aware, I visited the school on Monday, 30 April. I had discussions with the interested parties regarding this project.
