Vol. 398 No. 8

Written Answers. - General Practitioners Visiting Rates.

Bernard Allen

Question:

147 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health, if he will make a statement regarding the decision of General Medical Services (Payments) Boards to cease production of compiled statistical breakdowns of the visiting rates of general practitioners working under the fee per item system.

The General Medical Services (Payments) Board have confirmed that there has been no change in their arrangements for the compilation and provision of statistical data relevant to the activity of doctors under the fee per item method of payment.

The board continue to provide the eight health boards with relevant statistical data on the operation of the overall scheme and on individual doctors who hold General Medical Services contracts. Such date include statistical tables on visiting rates for those doctors on the fee per item system of remuneration.
