141 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Energy the reason for the delay in having a cost of living increase awarded in accordance with the Programme for Economic and Social Progress to persons in receipt of pensions from his Department.
The pension revisions of all unestablished pensioners has to be done manually including the calculations of whatever arrears are due.
There are approximately 2,000 people in receipt of unestablished pensions at any one time and it takes some time before all revisions are completed.
Revisions are being done as quickly as possible and notified each month to the Paymaster General's Office for payment.
