Statistics are not readily available for the period from 14 December 1987, the date of enactment of the Status of Children Act, 1987, to 31 July 1988 and separate statistics are not maintained for orders sought and granted only under the 1987 Act. Such statistics could not be obtained without an inordinate expenditure of staff time.
