Question:196 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Health if he will make immediate arrangements to allow phase II of Castlebar General Hospital, County Mayo to proceed as promised; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The health capital allocation for 1991 will enable contractual obligations and other priority commitments to be met but it will not be possible to accommodate major new projects such as the phase 2 development of Castlebar General Hospital. I accept the need for this development and the question of making provision for it will be considered as further capital funding for the health services becomes available.
