Vol. 404 No. 9

Written Answers. - Knocklyon (Dublin) School Site.

Tom Kitt

Question:

29 Mr. T. Kitt asked the Minister for Education if she will give an assurance that the post-primary school site at Scholarstown Road, Knocklyon, Dublin 16, will be retained and that, in the short term, this site will be made available to the local community for use as playing fields.

No decision has been taken on the disposal or future use of the site at Scholarstown Road which is being retained while the post-primary needs of the area continue to be monitored.

Following discussions between my Department and Dublin County Council it is proposed to allow the council to avail of the site on a temporary basis for the provision of playing fields for community use. The work required to provide the playing facilities will be undertaken by the council at their expense.
