Vol. 404 No. 9

Written Answers. - Bandon (County Cork) School.

Jim O'Keeffe

Question:

40 Mr. J. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Education whether her attention has been drawn to the urgent need for new facilities to replace the existing boys national schools in Bandon, County Cork; and her proposals in this regard.

I am fully aware of the situation in relation to the boys' national schools, Bandon, County Cork. As I have previously indicated, it is intended to accommodate these schools in the Convent secondary school when this building becomes available. I understand that the schools' authorities have prepared proposals for the adaptation of the St. Patrick's national school premises and these are being examined in my Department without prejudice to the decision already taken in this matter. My Department will communicate with the schools' authorities as early as possible.
