199 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if his Department uses private couriers to deliver departmental correspondence; the courier firms which are currently engaged; and the total amount paid to private courier firms for each year since 1984.

My Department uses private couriers only in cases of urgent necessity. The companies currently engaged are Pony Express and U-To Express. The total amount paid in respect of courier services for each year since 1984 is as follows:
