The provision of a post-primary school for the area referred to by the Deputy has been the subject of representations in recent months. Officials of my Department met with a deputation from the post-primary school committee last July.
In view of the considerable capital expenditure involved and the many urgent demands on the limited capital available, I am not in a position to say when the work on the school will commence.
The most recent review of the area has indicated that sufficient pupil places are available in schools within a reasonable distance, for the present at any rate. I am keeping the situation under regular review.
