Notes:
(1)Under the special border area programme, a total of £8 million approximately was made available for tourism amenity projects over the period 1986 to 1990. Apart from the amount of 0.156 million which was paid to Bord Fáilte in 1988 the funds are paid directly by the Department of Finance to the promoting agencies, mainly local authorities.
(2)Funding under the operational programme for tourism is paid by the EC Commission (1) direct to Bord Fáilte and SFADCo and (2) to Bord Fáilte, SFADCo, and Office of Public Works via Department of Finance.
(3)The Minister for Tourism, Transport and Communications does not directly receive moneys from the EC Commission under the programme. These are lodged with the Department of Finance and disbursed to the applicable agencies.
(4)No EC funds have been received by the Department for Telecom Éireann projects. The amounts detailed above have been received or are projected to be received by Telecom Éireann and its subsidiary Broadcom Éireann Research Ltd.
