Question:

210 Mr. Andrews asked the Minister for Tourism, Transport and Communications if he will give a breakdown of all return rates, including (1) apex, (2) super apex, and (3) daily and weekly rates, operated by the airlines flying out of Dublin to locations in the United Kingdom and to various European capital cities; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The information requested is set out in the following tables. Fares on scheduled air services between Ireland and other EC member states are governed by EC Council Regulation 2342/90 of 24 July 1990, which lays down the procedures and criteria for the approval of such air fares. Without prejudice to EC law, air fares between Ireland and Britain are governed by a Memorandum of Understanding between Ireland and Britain signed on 11 March 1988 and, subject to certain safeguards, are treated as approved unless the authorities of both sides indicate their disapproval.
