Written Answers. - County Cork Schools Accommodation.

Frank Crowley

Question:

270 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Education if she will consider adding a small extension to Bweeng national school, Mallow, County Cork for the purpose of storing photocopiers and other equipment, as there are no storage facilities for these valuable items at present.

The question of grant aid towards the cost of a utility room at Bweeng national school, Mallow, County Cork is being examined by my Department.

A decision will be conveyed to the school authorities as early as possible.

Michael Creed

Question:

271 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Education if the board of management of Clontead national school, County Cork have been informed of her decision to approve their application for a new national school; and when she expects to be in a position to allow the board of management to apply for planning permission.

Some initial work has been completed on the design of the proposed new national school at Clontead, County Cork prior to the preparation of sketch plans. When these plans have been completed, the school authorities will be advised to apply for planning permission. I am not in a position to say, at this stage, when these plans will be completed.
