Vol. 406 No. 4

Written Answers. - Dublin School Conditions.

Mary Flaherty

Question:

55 Miss Flaherty asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the poor condition of St. Joseph's junior school, Balcurris, Dublin 11, with particular regard to the conditions of the roof and the surface of the play area; and the plans she has for an immediate improvement in conditions.

I am aware of the situation in relation to conditions at St. Joseph's national school, Balcurris, Dublin 11. The whole question of an appropriate scheme of works is under consideration having regard to the fact that there is a large number of vacant classrooms at the school. My Department propose to meet with the school authorities at an early date to discuss the matter. I will communicate with the Deputy when there have been developments.
