Vol. 407 No. 3

Written Answers. - Water Conservation.

Alan M. Dukes

Question:

201 Mr. Dukes asked the Minister for Health whether specifications for public buildings drawn up by his Department include the installation of water conservation equipment; and if not, if he has any plans to incorporate such provisions.

The hot and cold water services in health care buildings are designed in accordance with good engineering practice, bearing in mind the importance of clean water in creating and preserving hygienic conditions. Specific water conservation equipment has been used in some cases in the past and will continue to be used as appropriate in the future, consisent with the overall hygiene objective.
