Vol. 407 No. 3

Written Answers. - Organic Farming.

Godfrey Timmins

Question:

57 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food whether grants or financial incentives are available to people who wish to promote organic farming; and if so, if he will give details.

A sum of £350,000 was provided in the Estimates for my Department in both 1990 and 1991 for the promotion and development of organic farming. This is funding a wide ranging programme involving promotion at producer and marketing level, research, demonstration farms and educational activity.
