Vol. 407 No. 3

Written Answers. - Land Annuity Payments.

Austin Deasy

Question:

60 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the amount collected annually in land annuities; the amount outstanding in arrears; when all payments are due to be paid off; and the total involved from now to that date.

The annual amount collectible in land annuities at present is around £5 million. The amount of arrears outstanding at 31 March 1991 was about £4.4 million. All existing annuities should be cleared by the year 2020. A figure for the total amount involved is not available, but the annual amount collectible will decrease steadily year by year.
