63 Mr. Garland asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will outline the legislation which is in place for the welfare of animals; whether this covers the welfare of animals held in captivity such as at Fota Wildlife Park, Westport House and Dublin Zoo; if he will further outline the legislation which covers the transportation of animals; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The legislation relating to the welfare, including transportation, of animals is set out in the following table. Animals held in captivity are covered within the provisions of this legislation.
