Vol. 411 No. 5

Written Answers. - County Kildare Water Supply.

Pat Rabbitte

Question:

34 Mr. Rabbitte asked the Minister for the Environment if he plans to have any discussion with Dublin Corporation regarding the breach in water supplies as a result of a burst pipe near Ballymore Eustace, County Kildare, which left large areas of Dublin without water, in order to ensure that such disruption is not repeated; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

My Department have requested a detailed report on this incident, including a report on any possible action which may be necessary to minimise the risk of recurrence. This report will also evaluate the operation of the corporation's action plan in this instance.

Officials of my Department and Dublin Corporation were in contact about this incident, as they are on a regular basis in relation to the water and sanitary services programme generally.
