Vol. 411 No. 8

Written Answers. - Defence Forces Pay Award.

Pádraic McCormack

Question:

27 Mr. McCormack asked the Minister for Defence if discussions are currently being held between his Department and RACO in relation to special pay increases.

A claim for special pay increases for officers of the ranks of commandant, lieutenant-colonel and colonel has been submitted by RACO. This claim will be processed under the scheme of conciliation and arbitration which will be set up for the Permanent Defence Force and in the light of the terms of the pay agreement which forms part of the Programme for Economic and Social Progress. Discussions with the representative associations — RACO and PDFORRA — on the terms of the C and A scheme are already underway.
