52 Tomás Mac Giolla asked the Minister for Defence if he will consider taking steps to ensure that the architectural integrity and appearance of Collins Barracks, Arbour Hill and its surroundings will be preserved in any agreement with a purchaser; if he will consider taking steps to encourage the conversion of Collins Barracks into residential accommodation; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The question of the preservation of any portions of Collins Barracks, Dublin, and the future use of the property are matters for the planning authority and the eventual purchaser in the context of the listing status of the property under the Dublin city development plan.
