92 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Justice if he will outline the proposals he has or consideration which has been given to a don't drink and drive campaign for the Christmas period, in view the success of last year's campaign; whether this year's campaign will include road checks and additional gardaí on duty over the Christmas period; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I will shortly be making a statement on this year's campaign, which has already been discussed with the Garda authorities and which will be at least as intensive as the one mounted last Christmas.
