Vol. 413 No. 1

Written Answers. - Carysfort Employees' Pension Entitlements.

Ruairí Quinn

Question:

170 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Education if he has received representations from persons (details supplied) concerning their pension entitlements following the closure of Carysfort Teacher Training College; and if, in respect of the representations that have been made on behalf of these persons, he will outline when a solution will be decided upon; if he will ensure that the persons so affected are accorded every facility to enable them to maximise their pension entitlements in accordance with normal practice and natural justice; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

My Department are in correspondence with a person acting on behalf of the persons referred to by the Deputy. As the issues involved are complex, I am unable to say when the matter will be resolved, but I can assure the Deputy that these cases are being fully and actively investigated at present.
