Vol. 413 No. 6

Written Answers. - Housing Loan Income Limits.

M. J. Nolan

Question:

102 Mr. Nolan asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange to have all income limits for new house loans, house improvement loans and all local authority application incomes index linked.

I have no such proposals. However, the income limit for local authority house purchase and improvement loans is regularly reviewed in the light of inflation. Arising from the last such review, the limit was increased from £10,000 to £12,000, with effect from 14 February 1991, in the case of an application where there is only one earner.
