Vol. 414 No. 9

Written Answers. - Thurles (Tipperary) Water Scheme.

Michael Lowry

Question:

104 Mr. Lowry asked the Minister for the Environment when he expects to be in a position to authorise Tipperary North Riding Council to seek tenders for construction of Thurles regional water scheme; if he will outline (a) the costings of this project, (b) the European grant aid involved and (c) the timescale for its implementation; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Contract documents for this scheme are under consideration in my Department, which is also awaiting submission of a certificate by the county council confirming that the necessary planning arrangements have been completed. The question of approval and funding of the schemes does not arise at this stage.
