Written Answers. - Thurles (Tipperary) Sewage Schemes.

Question:

99 Mr. Lowry asked the Minister for the Environment when additional funds sought by Thurles UDC will be sanctioned to defray costs involved in providing an extension to Brittas Road sewage treatment scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The council's request for additional funds will be considered on receipt of a technical report which has been requested by my Department.

100 Mr. Lowry asked the Minister for the Environment when funds will be provided to Thurles UDC to upgrade and improve sludge drying press facilities on the sewage treatment plant at Ballycurrane in Thurles, County Tipperary.

Having regard to competing demands, I am not in a position to approve this scheme at present.
