60 Mr. Spring asked the Minister for Education if he will outline the specific steps which are being initiated to expand existing means of ensuring that university students receive the necessary work experience to fulfil their potential for future employment.
My Department actively encourage the development and the strengthening of university-industry links, including work experience, because of the benefits to all concerned including students. A number of universities have co-operative type programmes whereby students obtain work experience as an integral part of their course while other institutions encourage students to acquire relevant work experience during their vacation periods.
