Question:100 Mr. Ryan asked the Minister for Defence if he will outline (1) the nature of subhead P in the 1992 Estimates and (2) the actual amount expended in 1991; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
Written Answers. - Barrack Services Expenditure.
The provision of £1.1 million in Subhead P — Barrack Services — of the Estimate for Defence for 1992 is required to meet the estimated cost of requirements of furniture, cutlery, delphware, curtains, carpets and other floor coverings, toilet requisites as well as the maintenance and/or replacement of culinary equipment and barrack services workshop equipment.
The total expenditure in 1991 on these items amounted to £1.2 million.
