Vol. 416 No. 3

Written Answers. - Easkey River (Roscommon) Drainage.

John Connor

Question:

74 Mr. Connor asked the Minister for Finance when works on cleaning and dredging the Easkey river, which is part of the Boyle river catchment, will commence; and if the project will be accorded urgency in view of the very large number of farm holdings subject to flooding from this river in its present state.

This river flows into the Boyle river downstream of Boyle town. Although the Easkey is inside the limits of the Boyle river catchment area, it is not included in the Boyle drainage scheme. Accordingly, there are no proposals to undertake drainage works on this river.
