Vol. 416 No. 6

Written Answers. - County Wexford National School.

Michael D'Arcy

Question:

250 Mr. D'Arcy asked the Minister for Education the up to date position regarding the proposed works to be carried out on the national school at Carowreigh, Taghmon, County Wexford.

Brendan Howlin

Question:

257 Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for Education when the urgently needed repairs to a school (details supplied) in County Wexford will be carried out; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that despite an undertaking given last July that a decision in relation to an application for a grant aid for this purpose would be made at the earliest possible date, no such decision has as yet been conveyed to the school; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Ivan Yates

Question:

271 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Education if he will clarify the up-to-date position in relation to a primary school (details supplied) in County Wexford which is in urgent need of repairs; and if he will outline the progress that has taken place over the last year in providing the sanction for a grant for a scheme of improvement works for the school.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 250, 257 and 271 together.

It has not been possible to date to approve a grant towards the cost of the proposed improvement works to the national school at Carowreigh. Taghmon, County Wexford in view of the many and varied demands on the limited capital resources available. The position will be kept under review in the light of developing information on commitments and cash flow requirements.
