406 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will outline the percentage of (a) butter and (b) skimmed milk powder produced in this country, which is estimated to be placed in intervention each year.

The amount of butter or skimmed milk powder (SMP) placed in intervention in Ireland in any year depends on the buoyancy of the dairy markets. The following is the position since 1988:
