Michael P. Kitt

Question:

151 Mr. M. Kitt asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a suckler cow grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

The person is not an applicant under the 1991 EC suckler cow premium scheme. He has already been paid part of his grant under the 1991 cattle and equines headage scheme and the balance will issue shortly.

Question:

152 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will be paid a sheep premium grant; and the amount of money due to him in respect of same.

The person named does not qualify for the 1991 ewe premium because he failed to maintain the number of ewes he applied for for the specified 100 days period as required under the terms and conditions governing the scheme.

Question:

153 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the amount due to a person (details supplied) in County Cork in respect of, (a) a special beef premium and (b) a suckler cow grant; and when payment will issue.

This applicant has been deemed ineligible for grants under the 1991 special beef premium scheme as he did not maintain the number of animals applied for on his application for two months from date of lodgment of his application or until inspection, whichever was later, as required under the terms and conditions of the scheme. He did not avail of the concession which allowed applicants who wished to sell animals after the maximum two months retention period but before inspection to bring the cattle identity cards for these animals to my Department for inspection, stamping and punching before sale. He has been paid his 1991 suckler cow premium scheme grant already.
