256 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for Health if he has received an application to fund the establishment of a Women's Aid Centre in Letterkenny, County Donegal; and if funds are being allocated to facilitate the establishment of this centre.
I am aware of the proposal to establish a women's aid centre in Letterkenny.
I understand that the North Western Health Board have informed the women's aid group that advice and assistance, including assistance towards the preparation of plans and so on, will be made available to them. In the interim the board have offered financial assistance towards the provision of a telephone service at the women's centre.
The board have also offered to meet the group for further discussions on this matter.
