Question:83 Mr. Clohessy asked the Minister for the Environment if he will introduce house repairs for the elderly to off-set the removing of the essential repairs grants.

There has been no recent change in the power of local authorities to pay essential repairs grants and there are no proposals to introduce any new scheme of assistance for repairs to elderly persons' housing. Repairs are also carried out to housing occupied by elderly persons under the Task Force on Special Housing Aid for the Elderly.
