Question:172 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Education if he will give details of the second level schools in County Meath which do not have the services of a guidance counsellor.

It would not be in accordance with normal practice to supply the information sought in respect of individual schools.
There are 17 post-primary schools in County Meath and my Department has sanctioned a total of ten ex-quota guidance posts in such schools in the county. The equivalent of one additional such post will also arise under the terms of the Programme for Economic and Social Progress.
