Question:130 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Justice the number of, (1) prosecutions and (2) convictions of publicans in Dublin city for selling drink to those under age in (a) 1989, (b) 1990 and (c) 1991.

I am informed by the Garda authorities that statistics are gathered only in respect of the Dublin Metropolitan Area (that is the greater Dublin area from Portrane in the north to Greystones in the south and inland to Leixlip, County Kildare, taking in portions of Counties Wicklow, Kildare and Meath) and are not separately available for the city.
