Question:60 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Health the reason for the long delay, since January 1992 in sanctioning and paying a disabled person's maintenance allowance to a person (details supplied) in Dublin 3.

The assessment of eligibility for an allowance or assistance in any individual case is the responsibility of the Health Board concerned. Accordingly, I have referred the case to the Chief Executive Officer of the Eastern Health Board for investigation and a request that he reply to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
