Seán Ryan

Question:

108 Mr. Ryan asked the Minister for Education if he will outline the position in relation to the diploma in marketing administration course in the College of Marketing and Design, Dublin, in view of the commitments given to the students in question in relation to an advanced diploma and possible degree status with the University of Dublin.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 24, 39, 85, 60, 64, 68, 65 and 108 together.

My attention has been drawn to a difficulty in relation to the validation of a course in the College of Marketing and Design.

I view the matter with the utmost concern. While validation of the programme is a matter for the college authorities and the relevant validating body my Department has taken the matter up with the City of Dublin V.E.C. with a view to finding a resolution to the problem.
