Vol. 419 No. 7

Written Answers. - Central Model Schools.

Tony Gregory

Question:

30 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Education if he will give details of his special responsibility for the Central Model Schools, Marlborough Street, Dublin 1, as patron.

My responsibility as patron of the Central Model School is similar to that of patrons generally of national schools under my Department's rules. With the establishment of Boards of Management that responsibility relates principally to the nomination and appointment of board members, the approval of teacher appointments proposed in accordance with selection procedures, the appointment of assessors on selection boards and where a board resigns or fails to carry out its functions, the making of interim arrangements for the management of the school pending the appointment of a new Board.
