Question:135 Mr. Kavanagh asked the Minister for the Environment the number of housing units which have been (a) built and (b) purchased for letting to local authority housing applicants since 1987.

The total number of houses provided by the housing authorities for letting in the period 1987 to 1991 inclusive was 7,475, of which 226 were by way of purchase.
